Wheaton Arts Parade is calling artists in Montgomery County and surrounding areas to participate in an 8-weekend exhibition and sale of original, professional quality artwork at a new gallery in the heart of Wheaton's Central Business District. The exhibition will run from June 26 to August 16, 2026.

The gallery is located one and one half-block from the Wheaton Metro Station at 11325 Georgia Ave. There are three public parking lots and garages within one block from the gallery and excellent restaurants nearby.

This exhibit celebrates freedom of expression. We want your art that fosters critical thinking, challenges narratives, and creates a shared space for dialogue and representation for all. This is a great opportunity to showcase your original point of view.

Artwork: The Gallery aims to maintain a diverse representation of local artists. All media of original art will be considered: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber etc. Artists once accepted may exhibit up to a maximum of 4 works to occupy display space equivalent to four 24"x24" paintings. All art must be for sale and remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork that violates copyright laws or that has been created using AI will not be considered.

Eligibility: Artists must be at least 18 years old and reside or create their artwork in Maryland, DC, or Virginia.

Application: Applications close on June 8, 2026. There is no fee to apply. The link to the full application form and important details are in the PROSPECTUS. All acceptance notifications will be emailed by June 12, 2026. Art drop-off will take place on June 18 & 19, 2026.

Artist Responsibilities: WAP relies upon exhibiting artists to help operate the gallery. Artists must "gallery sit" for at least 9 hours (3, 3-hour shifts)

Gallery Hours: We plan to be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for at least six hours each day. Business hours are determined by the number and availability of volunteers.

Gallery Fee & Commission: There is a participation fee of $90. Half the participation fee will be refunded to artists who fulfill their obligations to gallery sit for three shifts. The Gallery’s commission on the Artist’s sales revenue is 10%.
