2021 POSTER CONTEST
Deadline: January 31, 2021
Wheaton Arts Parade is giving Montgomery County's high school and college students a chance to win $300 for an original design for the 5th Annual Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival. The poster should celebrate art and Wheaton's diverse cultures and communicate the fun-filled spirit of a parade and art festival. Past posters can be viewed on our website archive: https://www.wheatonartsparade.org/archives. But don't let your imagination be limited by the past. Give us your fresh ideas for 2021.
The winning student will have an opportunity to work with WAP’s professional graphic design artists to turn his/her design into the image that will be used for WAP21 promotional materials, including our poster, t-shirt, and program. Thanks to our sponsor, Los Chorros Restaurant, the winner will receive a cash prize of $300. In addition, WAP will award the winning student's school with $100 for art supplies.
In 2020, the COVID pandemic prevented us from having the parade, but WAP still brought art to the streets of Wheaton with the "Path of Pyramids" and Yarn Bomb. We are hopeful that by September 2021 we will be able to renew our Wheaton tradition and "Parade the Triangle" as we push, pull, carry, wear and perform art as we walk around the Wheaton Triangle in the heart of Wheaton's Urban District to our new town plaza.
The winning design will be integrated into the poster template shown below. Please submit digital entries only. Entries should be 8.5” x 11” in size and saved as a 300 dpi to-size JPEG, PNG or vector PDF format. Please use no more than 5 colors, including black and white.
