The Path of Pyramids connects ten 4ft and three 8ft tetrahedrons around the Wheaton Urban District, from the Westfield Mall to the new Marian Fryer Plaza to the Wheaton Library/Recreation Center. More than 45 local artists competed for 11 commissions to paint or sculpt their original work. Families participating in this year's community mosaic project created a tribute to their Salvadoran heritage on one of the tetrahedrons and WAP partnered with One Montgomery Green to create assemblage art on another tetrahedron using non-recylcable #6 plastics. Once again, WAP Latinx artists worked with the women of Wheaton to create a Yarn Bomb. Their colorful crocheted designs are hanging from lamp posts creating a path to the pyramids.

The WAP pyramids are regular tetrahedrons made up of four equilateral triangles. The heart of Wheaton also is a triangle created by the intersection of three state highways and the annual Wheaton Arts Parade marches around the triangle, bringing together Wheaton's citizens, cultures and commerce with art. The 2019 parade mascot was a friendly giant magenta tetrahedron. Wheaton is walking for art. Please come and see our art, but keep a safe social distance and wear a mask.
