Wheaton Arts Parade Poster Contest Is Open

to ALL Montgomery County Residents

Wheaton Arts Parade (WAP) invites ALL who live or work in Montgomery County to submit their "original design that celebrates art and Wheaton's diverse cultures and communicates the fun-filled spirit of a parade and art festival."  The theme for the 2023 parade is "Art to Action." Before we can make our world a better place, we need a vision of the future that inspires us to act.

The winner will receive a $500 commission. Whether or not the eventual winner is a student, an additional $100 will be awarded to a Montgomery County school for art supplies. The winner will to select the school. The prize is donated by founding sponsors, IHOP Wheaton and Los Chorros Restaurant. Designs must be original and may not include images that are copyrighted by anyone other than the applicant. Designs may not use stock images or images taken from commercial design applications.

Past posters can be viewed below and in the website archive, but don't let your imagination be limited by the past. Give us your new ideas for 2023.
If the winner is a student, they will have an opportunity to work with a professional graphic designer to turn their design into the image that will be used for WAP22 promotional materials, including the poster, t-shirt, flyers and program.
The winning design will be integrated into the poster template shown below. Submit digital entries only, in vector format. Entries should be 8.5” x 11” in size and saved as a 300 dpi to-size JPEG, PNG or vector PDF format. Use no more than 5 colors, including black and white
